Letter to Registrants:

We regret to inform you that the Blackfoot Kicker Multi-sport Event, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026, has been canceled for this year.

This decision was not made lightly.  Unfortunately, due to inadequate water levels at Jensen Grove, we are unable to move forward with hosting the event.  The City of Blackfoot feels bad that the Grove will not be filled this year due to the lack of snowfall this winter.

We understand the time and effort that goes into planning your race season, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. To make this right, we are offering you two options:

  1. A FULL REFUND (less administrative/processing fees) of your race entry fee. Refunds will be processed and credited back to your original form of payment no later than race day (June 13th, 2026).
  2. A FULL CREDIT toward any future Tri Peaks Epic Events race, valid during the 2026 or 2027 race season.

ACTION REQUIRED—PLEASE RSVP TO THIS EMAIL BEFORE MAY 22ND, 2026 WITH YOUR CHOICE—EITHER REFUND OR FULL CREDIT.  IF WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU BY THIS DATE, A FULL CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED FOR ANOTHER RACE.

We appreciate your understanding and support, and we hope to see you at one of our upcoming events soon.  Just a reminder, our RIGBY RUMBLE TRI is on July 11th, our GREAT SNAKE RIVER TRI is on August 15th, our NEW RACE called the MAGIC MAN is on August 29th, and the REXBURG RUSH TRI is on September 19th, 2026.

Should you have any questions on this letter, please contact BRYAN MAGLEBY (208- 520-9400) or MIKE TAYLOR (208-201-6269) or email TriPeaksEpicEvents@gmail.com.

Thank you for being a part of the Tri Peaks Epic Events community.

With gratitude,

Tri Peaks Epic Events – Bryan Magleby & Mike Taylor

Course Description

SWIM

SPRINT racers will do 1 lap, and OLYMPIC racers will do 2.  Be aware that if there is a wind, the reservoir can be choppy!  Marine Patrol and kayaks/paddleboards will be on the reservoir for safety.

BIKE

The bike section of the Blackfoot Kicker Triathlon will be a mostly flat course for both the Sprint and Olympic.  The SPRINT course will begin with crossing both lanes of traffic onto East Airport Road, then a LEFT turn onto Rose Road, crossing over Interstate 15 and taking the next LEFT turn onto 350 North—then all RIGHT turns from that point on through a loop on country roads and then returning to Jensen Grove on Rose Road, then East Airport Road.  The OLYMPIC course will be the same above, except once you turn onto 350 North, you will take a quick LEFT again onto Johnson Road until you hit Tressel Road.  There will be all RIGHT turns from this point—and you will do 2 LAPS (turning again onto 350 North) of this country loop.  After doing the second loop, you will return on Rose Road to East Airport Road to Jensen Grove.
There will be volunteers and police at all major intersections—Use CAUTION on all corners and watch for gravel, cattle, and random farm sprinklers!  There will be a minor AID STATION that will have bottles of water only on the OLYMPIC course, nothing on the SPRINT course.  You will be coached on where to dismount your bike and get ready for your run.

RUN

The RUN portion of the Blackfoot Kicker Triathlon will be on the bike/walking path that starts out parallel to I-15.  Immediately as you exit the transition area, you will head directly WEST toward I-I5 to the then directly along the Interstate heading NORTH.  The SPRINT racers will go to the first billboard.  There will be an AID STATION at the turnaround point that will have both water and possibly Gatorade.  The OLYMPIC racers will continue on the path and cross one road (Porterville Road) and continue on the path until you 265 North Ruby Road.  This will be your turnaround and once again there will be an AID STATION.   You will then return on the same path (use caution again on Porterville Road) and return to the transition area.  We will have volunteers at the road crossing.  Please be nice to other people using the bike/walk path.  Run hard…there is a FINISHER MEDAL waiting for you after you pass the FINISH ARCH!
